• Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on 4K blu-ray

From Nightfox@21:1/137 to All on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 19:09:22
I still like to buy movies & TV shows on physical media, and that includes Star Trek, one of my favorite things to watch.
I had heard they were releasing Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (season 1) on 1080p blu-ray, which I was happy for. And I was surprised to see yesterday that they're also releasing it on 4K blu-ray:

They've released some of the Star Trek movies on 4K blu-ray, but this is the first Star Trek TV show they've released in 4K. The other Star Trek shows are available on 1080p blu-ray or DVD (some only on DVD).

I just want season two to come out.

I heard Strange New Worlds season 2 has finished filming and is set to release this year.

    Hallo Commodore,

I just want season two to come out.

Same! I watched season one of ST:SNW not long ago and I love it.
It has great stories, is not overwhelmed with shaky cameras and lens
flares and I felt 'at home' there.
I hope it will continue a while!

    Regards,
    Anna

I like Strange New Worlds. However, I sometimes feel tired of all the prequels they're currently making, set in Kirk's time or earlier. One thing I'd like to see is a Star Trek TV series or some movies taking place between the original series and Next Generation. We only ever saw the Enterprise B and C once each, and it would be interesting to see more of those ships and crews. I'm a little surprised they haven't made anything based on that period of time in all these years. And if they'd have the ships and uniforms etc. look the same as they did (no re-designs like they did with the Enterprise in Strange New Worlds and Discovery), that would be great.

Yes, that would be a great idea. Let's hope that we can see something
    like this in the future...

That's a wide bit of time to work with, but it's got a lot of promise.
Captain Sulu and the Excelsior, the Khitomer accords, there's a lot to
    work with.
